Snap Inc. has announced a major partnership with Perplexity AI to integrate an AI-powered answer engine directly into Snapchat App. With this new feature, users will be able to ask questions and get conversational, verified replies without ever leaving the app, which is a significant step in making AI more accessible.

The integration, which will supplement Snapchat’s current My AI chatbot and give users another way to research subjects and learn from trustworthy sources, is scheduled to launch internationally in early 2026. Evan Spiegel, CEO of Snapchat, claims that the change is intended to make AI more entertaining, social, and helpful in casual interactions.

Perplexity AI will invest $400 million over the course of a year using a combination of cash and equity under the conditions of the collaboration.  The partnership demonstrates Snapchat’s overarching plan to establish itself as a reliable centre for AI-driven learning and discovery while providing consumers with a more engaging app experience.

By providing real-time, authenticated responses, the new AI tool enhances Snapchat’s current My AI chatbot rather than replacing it.  According to analysts, this collaboration represents an increasing trend of social apps incorporating cutting-edge AI tools to improve user experience and engagement. 

With almost 1 billion monthly users, Snapchat is currently making significant progress towards creating a platform where AI and social interaction converge, enabling users to find new content, get precise responses, and engage in more intelligent interactions.
